This week we watched a movie about Bullying and how it hurt a boy called Auggie. He had a big sister called Via.

He was picked on because of his face disorder. 

When he was wearing a mask on Halloween he heard his friend say if they had his face they would kill themselves

This made Auggie feel very sad and alone

Here’s a quote from Auggie: “The only reason I’m not ordinary is that no one else sees me that way”

The theme of this is about kindness,bullying,courage,diversity and family.

Cyber-Bullying

Today we are learning about Cyber-Bullying. What is Cyber-Bullying? the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Cyber-bullying is written online. Bullying online is hurtful and mean. Cyber-Bullying is often mean comments but it is also messages that hurt and affect you.

Monster sculptures

Hey everyone,

On Monday we made monster sculptures. It was totally the best project ever. On Monday we had to get clay and try out the pinching Technic. There were different kinds of monster sculptures and Ms Keene let us pick what monster sculpture we wanted to make. Just have a look at my awesome picture of it. I have called him Little Timmy Alien. He is so cute.

Online learning should continue

Hey everyone, 

For hurumanu 3 we have been learning about persuasive writing. I chose to write about "Online learning should continue"

Do you want to see people die? If not, online learning needs to continue. I will be talking about my 3 points, they are how much germs children spread in one day, That you can still do work at home and lastly is how doing work at school is the same as at home. 

If you’re sick you can still do work at home. When you go to school and come in contact with other children you spread 152,300 germs in one day. Germs spread really fast around the school especially touching common objects that other people touch. When you sit next to people, you spread germs around. Lastly when you touch things that haven’t cleaned, you pick up other people's germs.

Being sick can be dangerous because when you’re in public you are so close to each other. But online learning you can do work and talk to your teacher on zoom or google meet. There are also websites that your teacher can send to you. The Government sends chromebooks to children that don’t have chromebooks so you don’t have to worry. When you do your work but you don’t understand you can just email your teacher and ask.

Working online is the same as working at school because whatever you need to work on it’s on the websites that your teacher gives you. The activities that you're given are the same as the one’s at school. If you want to show your teacher your work, you can share it while on call. Online learning is a really great idea because they can still learn and spend time with family. Even if children stay home, they can still develop and learn heaps.

Now you can see that online learning should continue. It will mean that you can’t spread germs and also still do school work at home. I really think that online learning should continue because I wouldn’t want to see people suffer. Staying at home will reduce the amount of cases in the world. Online learning is really good because you can do work and ask your parents for help if you don’t have the confidence to talk to your teacher. Staying at home will prevent you and your friends from getting the virus.

 Defiitionn: pH (potential of hydeogen) is a scale of acidity from 0 to 14 with 7 being neutral.

All solutions have a pH. Acid solutions,have lower pH. Alkaline solutions, have higher pH, Substances that aren't acidic or alkaline ( that is,neutral solutions) usually have a pH of 7. Acids have a pH that is less than 7. Alkaline have pH that is greater than 7.

 Discussion 

1. The normal water was transferred into the gummy bear the most.
2. The dry gummy bear lost 0.11 grams over a week.
3. The sugar water diffused faster than the salt water.

Diffusion is the movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Diffusion happens in liquids and gases because their particles move randomly from place to place. Diffusion is an important process for living things; it is how substances move in and out of cells.
