 Discussion

  1. The normal water was transferred into the gummy bear the most.
  2. The dry gummy bear lost 0.11 grams over a week.
  3. The sugar water diffused faster than the salt water.

Diffusion is the movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Diffusion happens in liquids and gases because their particles move randomly from place to place. Diffusion is an important process for living things; it is how substances move in and out of cells.

Hurumanu 2 (Body Purcussion)

We have been learning about body percussion. For body percussion we had to make up actions that you can you do with your hands and feet. We decided to do a Sasa, which is a samoan creations. We also had to go into groups of 3 to 5. Some of us had to use objects to make sounds because it was dificult to learn the Sasa.

Here is a video of my group's body percussion.

By the time I get home it is past 7:00. After I went for a run I went to go for a long bath and watched my favourite tv show , Called Shortland street. After I went to go and make my breakfast, I had  bacon and eggs with toast. I didn’t have errands until 11:00 with my siblings at the lab.

While I waited until 11:00 I watched my favourite tv show and had a nap. When I woke up I got ready and turned on my car to go to the lab. Under my clothes I wore my suit just in case there was someone that needed help.  I got to the lab and kora was already there setting up the electronics.

Amazing powered car

 Hey everyone,

Today we are learning about Steam Powered Cars. We had to answer questions. Here is my one....

Title: Amazing powered car

Genre: Article

List the Author/s and Illustrator/s of the text:

Pat Quinn

Replace The Words But Keep The Meaning

The following sentence comes from the text. Your job is to rearrange/add in/replace some of the words with other words you know. Make sure the original meaning of the sentence stays the same.

"Now that the cost of petrol has risen over the years, and the air is becoming polluted with fumes, a steam powered car could be the car of the future."

Now that the cost of gas has gone up, and the air is polluted with chemicals, a steam powered car of the future.

Would you buy one?

Would you own and drive a steam powered car?  Why/why not?

I would ot own one because it would be too slow if you're in a rush and if you crash it,it would be so expensive.

This article is about an amazing steam powered car, and what it’s made out of. It is also about how it is operated and how to fix it if it’s broken.

What are the pluses and minuses to the steam powered car?

Pluses: The brothers would drive side by side in two cars through town. They were an impressive sight with their matching beards.

Minuses: They refuse to advertise their car print. Byers had to pay all the money in cash- no down payments or deposits we accepted.

Using a bunsen burner

 Hi everyone,

Today we have done a experiment with water and the Bunsen burner.

Aim: To demonstrate how to heat a liquid inside a test tube.

Equipment: Bunsen Burner,Heatproof mat,Lighter,Test tube,Test tube tongs,Safety gasses.

Method:

1. Light the Bunsen Burner.

2. Fill you test tube to approximately 5ml water.

3. Turn the collar at the Bunsen burner so it's a blue flame

4. Holding the test tube with test tube tongs, tilt the test tube on a 45 degree angle and place the bottom of the tube into the FlameEnsure that the mouth of the tube is not pointing towards anyone.

5. Gently wave the test tube in and out of the flame. Remember you are trying to heat the liquid gently.

6. Once the water starts to gently bubly, take it away from the flame. carefully pour the hot water into the sink.

Questions:

1. explain why it is important that the test tube is held at 45 degrees? It's important to hold the test tube 45 degrees because if you keep it in one place it will urn the test tube.

2. Suggest why the test tube is moved I and out of the flame instead of keeping in in one place? I think because it will get too hot.

Hey everyone,

This term for P.E we have been training for Athletics. We have already doe high jump, long jump, shot put, discuss and relays. Today we have done relays. My favorite one was discuss and shot put because it was fun to throw.

I improved in relays because I used be a lot slower. I would like to do more discus and shot put. I enjoyed most of it. I have done some of these activities but not all of it. Here are photos of the activities.
